About linkinator

A broken link checker that crawls websites and validates links. It finds dead links and invalid URLs in live pages, documentation and local files, which makes it useful for SEO audits and for continuous integration. It runs as a command line tool, through a Node.js API, as a standalone binary with no Node.js needed, in Docker, or as a GitHub Action. A configuration file and strict link checking options let you decide how specific status codes are handled. A companion MCP server lets AI assistants like Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor check links through natural language prompts. Written in TypeScript and MIT licensed, with a Node API function for running a check from code. It suits teams that want link checks to run automatically whenever documentation or pages change.
