About SchemaDotOrg

A Ruby gem for adding structured data to web pages with simple, declarative style code, aimed at Rails projects. Every piece of markup is validated for syntax and semantics, and its guiding principle is no silent failures, so you are prevented from creating invalid markup. It produces JSON-LD for Schema.org types and includes examples for BreadcrumbList and WebSite. Good structured data helps enhance how pages appear in search results, which is the reason the library exists. Published on RubyGems as schema_dot_org by the Public Law project and released under the MIT license, with sections on installation, development and contributing. Rails teams that care about rich results can add it to a project without hand writing JSON-LD for each page type, and a mistake in the markup raises an error instead of shipping quietly.
